STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The Magnolia Independent Film Festival is in full swing this weekend in Starkville.
It was an opportunity for members of the public to meet and network with professionals in the independent film industry.

Nine professional filmmakers were on hand for the forum.

The filmmakers had a 15-minute pitch session each, followed by a Q and A session for participants.

Professionals say opportunities like this, open doors in the industry.

” I am so excited to be hanging out with all these great film makers, that’s the best part of the festival is meeting other film makers and collobrating and sharing ideas,” said filmmaker, Wendy Keeling.
“You get a chance to network with other film makers, actors, people in production, cast, crew and it really re-energizes you and gives you the energy and strength you need to keep burrowing forward,” said filmmaker, Rob Underhill.

The Magnolia Film Festival is a three day event and many film makers call it their favorite festival.
