COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) -The tempting smell of good food and the sounds of Soul, Blues, and Rock-n-Roll drew a crowd to the amphitheater at the Riverwalk in Columbus Friday night for the kick-off to the 20th Annual Market Street Festival. The night was highlighted by a cornucopia of culinary delights, ranging from footlong corndogs to ribs, and “garbage can” gumbo.

The music was equally enticing with local favorites: Keith and Margie, Big Joe Shelton and the Black Prairie Ambassadors, Juke Joint Gypsies, and Swingshift all taking the stage.

Market Street continues through Saturday with The Splash of Color 5K, Arts and Crafts, a car show, an expanded children’s area, more food and music, and the WCBI “Crank It Up Contest”.
