WESA to sponsor environmental and safety conference

Registration is under way for an environmental and safety conference sponsored by the Workplace Environmental and Safety Association, which will be Aug. 6-7 at the Itawamba Community College Belden Center (3200 Adams Farm Rd.).
Highlights of the Wednesday session, which will begin at 10 a.m., will include Northern District Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley, Environmental Issues in Mississippi (keynote); Dennis Berry, Fall Protection Road Show; Richard Burnis, How to Manage an Emergency Incident; OSHA Compliance Specialist Courtney Bohannon, OSHA; Ben Rosenkrans, Construction Scaffolding; Todd Grover, General Industry Lock Out Tag Out; Roger Shadburn, Electrical Safety – ARC Flash; Chuck Erickson, Respirators; Mark Willcutt, Crane Standard – Changes; and Tammy Webb, Environmental and Safety Apps for Smart Phones.
Topics for the Thursday session, which will be from 8 a.m.-noon, are OSHA Inspections, Bohannon (keynote); Myths about Fall Protection, Rosenkrans; Hearing Protection, Erickson; and Construction Job Site Awareness, Doug Lesley.
Cost of the conference is $50 for members and $100 for non-members.
