Facebook Post Helps Nab Suspected Car Burglar

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A Booneville man’s social media status changes to “incarcerated” after a Facebook video leads police to charge him with burglary.

Booneville Police had been investigating a rash of car burglaries that occurred March 7th and 8th when a tipster posted a video to the department’s Facebook page.

That video helped them identify Christopher Leach, Jr. as a suspect.

Leach is charged with 6 counts of Burglary of an Auto, and 3 counts of Attempted Burglary of an Auto.

His bond is set at $45,000.00. The burglaries are still under investigation.
