Video: School Bus Involved Accident Sends Twelve To Hospital, No Serious Injuries

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A school bus carrying students from Stokes Beard Elementary is involved in an accident.

The crash happened shortly before 3:00pm this afternoon at the intersection of 11th Street North and Main Street.

The bus was on it’s way to the YMCA and the Boys and Girl’s Club when the wreck happened.

Only one car was involved in the accident with the school bus, a silver Ford Fusion.

No serious injuries are being reported at this time.

Twelve children have been taken to the hospital complaining of soreness.

Although the airbag of the car involved didn’t go off, the driver, a 90-year-old Columbus resident, refused medical attention.

The scene was cleared after the remaining children were picked up.

The accident is under investigation.
