MONROE COUNTY, Miss – One man has died after two 18 wheelers collide on Highway 45 near Okolona.

It happened in the northbound lane,  just before 11 o’clock Monday (12-3) morning.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, a tractor-trailer driven by 32 year old Chad Blakenship, of Humbolt, Tennessee, collided with the back end of another semi driven by 21 year old Justin Clark of Amory.

Clark is a student driver and had 3 people, including an instructor, in the truck with him.

Nobody in Clark’s vehicle was seriously hurt, but Blakenship was airlifted from the scene to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

He died from his injuries Monday (12-3) afternoon.

The investigation continues.
