Fatal Early Morning Crash

ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI)- An Aberdeen woman is dead after failing to yield at a stop sign.

62-year-old Kathy Mae Marks was driving when she was hit by a 1977 Jeep International Scout at the intersection of East Commerce Street and US 45 South in Aberdeen.

The crash happened at around 7:30 this morning.

Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley says Marks was declared dead on the scene due to multiple trauma injuries.

Marks was not wearing a seat belt.

The other driver was not injured in the crash.

Aberdeen Police investigated the accident.
