Faulty Car Leads To Felony Charges

BOONEVILLE ( WCBI) – A deputy stopping to help a stranded motorist winds up arresting two people in a stolen car and toting a stolen rifle.
 46 year old Kevin Courtney and 46 year old Angela Courtney were stranded on the side of  Highway 45 when Prentiss County Deputy Wesley Graves stopped to help.  the car they were in had a temporary Tennessee tag so a check of the VIN number turned up the fact it was stolen.   A rifle found inside was also stolen from Dyersburg, Tennessee.  Kevin Courtney is charged with Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.   Angela Courtney faces the Receiving Stolen Property Charge.
