Video: Flood Disastrous Relief Drive

STARKVILLE, MISS. (WCBI) — One local North Mississippi town is lending a helping hand to help with the flood victims in Louisiana.

The city of Starkville held a flood disaster relief drive taking all sorts of supplies.

Some of the supplies included, water, bleach, cleaning supplies and toiletries.

Officers from the Starkville Police Department and students were there to help load the supplies on an 18-wheeler and a U-Haul to take the flood supplies down to Louisiana.

Organizer Mandy Wilson says it’s very important to help give back.

“I think this is important to help out our neighbors on the coast area and in the Louisiana area because you never know when tragedy can strike. It can be us that’s affected by something and we’ll need people to provide help for us,” said Wilson.

The flood disaster relief drive have been taken up donations the past two weeks and today was the last day for donations.
