Former Jackson Superintendent To Be Interim Conservator

(JACKSON,Ms) (WCBI)  Former Jackson Public Schools Superintendent Jayne Sargent has been named interim conservator of the Oktibbeha County Schools.  The Friday move comes one day after  the state state board of education voted to assume control of the struggling district.  Sargent will be in Starkville  Monday to begin the task of helping the district recover.

SSregent is being paud $46,750 plus 12 thousand in travel expenses in her position.  That contract runs through December 14th.
