MOOREVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Students throughout Northeast Mississippi will get a real life look at the dangers of distracted driving.

Syd Muzzy is a driver behavior specialist who demonstrates ways for students to become better drivers.

He started his tour of area schools at Mooreville High School, where he had several hands on lessons to illustrate the dangers of distracted driving.

Muzzy’s oldest son was killed in a car wreck, when he removed his seat belt , seconds before the car he was riding in rolled over.

“We as humans have a Superman mentality and we do things without thought and that’s what gets us in trouble.”

“The lesson is do not get distracted because there are things while you are driving that can distract you and even if it’s just a second you can very easily get in a serious accident.”

Muzzy’s program  is being sponsored by area Walmarts. He runs the 911 driving school in Washington State.
