Video: Injured Lowndes Deputy Released From Hospital

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The Lowndes County deputy shot in the leg after a high speed chase is released from the hospital.

Deputy Kevin Forrester was injured in both legs during a shootout on Highway 82, on Monday.

A Baptist Golden Triangle spokesperson says he was allowed to go home on Thursday.

Mathiston police went to stop Pryor Spencer Bailey IV before he fled.

The pursuit went through Oktibbeha and Lowndes Counties.

Investigators say Bailey got out of his SUV and exchanged gunfire with law enforcement.

The Starkville man died at the scene.

There’s no word on when Forrester might return to work.
