International Thanksgiving

STARKVILLE, Miss.(WCBI)—A little touch of home, was the message Thursday as the first United Methodist Church of Starkville opened it’s door to several college students.

Armando Delacruz, a retired professor of biology at Mississippi State and his wife Ruth have hosted The International Thanksgiving for more than 30 years.

Students of all nationalities from all over the Golden Triangle gathered together to enjoy and share an American Tradition.

Thursday’s event service included Transportation to the church from Mississippi State, A Performance and A poem of the true meaning of thanksgiving.

Delacruz says he hopes the students receive a message of love even being so far from home.

A lot of foreign students and some american students can not go home and of course the international students don’t go home so we started inviting a few Phillipinos at home then a few Asians until it had gotten so big that we asked this church The First United Methodist church to sponsor it,”said Delacruz.

Delacruz says he hopes the growth continues every year
