IUKA, Miss. (WCBI) – Two people die after a car crash in Iuka Saturday afternoon.

Tishomingo County Coroner Mack Wilemon says, 67 year old Harris Strickland and 62 year old Wanda Strickland were killed when a vehicle failed to stop at a four way stop sign.

The accident happened at the intersection of Quitman Street and MS HWY 25.

Wilemon says, Mr. Strickland was making a left turn onto Quitman in a 2000 Buick when he was struck by a pick up driven by Edward Sprague.

The Stricklands had their 13 year old grandson in the back seat.

He had to be taken to the hospital by helicopter.

Mr. Strickland survived two tours in Vietnam only to be killed in his home state at a four-way stop. Go figure.
