Iuka Man Faces Attempted Murder Charge

GARDENDALE, AL (WCBI)  – An Iuka man remains jailed in Gardendale Alabama following a series of crimes Saturday night.

Gardendale Police say 39 year old Daniel Armendariz tried to steal a car at gunpoint in a restaurant parking lot. When that failed he ran to a nearby shopping center where he carjacked another person and fled. Police spotted Armendariz and a chase started. That pursuit ended when Armendariz rammed a Gardendale patrol car causing both to wreck. He was then arrested without incident. The Iuka man faces two counts of robbery one count of receiving stolen property and one count of attempted murder. Bond is set at $195,000 dollars
