Jeffery Simmons Case Comes To A Close

MACON (WCBI) – The court case of former Noxubee County and current Mississippi State football player Jeffery Simmons is over.

Macon Police Chief Lucius Mason says Simmons pleaded guilty Tuesday to a simple assault and a malicious mischief charge.    Simmons was fined a total of 475 dollars in the two cases and also ordered to pay close to 850 in restitution for property damage and medical bills.  The case started earlier this year when Simmons was videotaped striking a woman several times during a fight.  That woman Sophia Taylor also entered a disturbing the peace plea today and faces a $225 fine.
