Video: MHP say “Click It or Ticket”

STATEWIDE

Buckle up.

Law enforcement from across the state begin the “Click it or Ticket” program Monday.

Mississippi law requires drivers to wear safety belts. Unrestrained drivers can be ticketed.

Mississippi troopers say driving and riding without seat belts are a big reason for deaths in car accidents.

Last year during the month of May, the Mississippi Highway Patrol reports 68 Mississippians died in highway crashes.

The goal of the click it campaign is to remind drivers and passengers to buckle their seat belts.

The campaign is in effect through June 5th.
