COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Dozens turned out in costume to kick off the week of Halloween, Saturday at the Leigh Mall in Columbus.

The community event was free for kids under 12 and featured face painting, games, and snacks for everyone. Most turned out for the annual costume contest, though, dressing up as secret agents, ninjas, princesses, and even monkeys!

A vampire who wished to remain anonymous told WCBI the entire event was an even bigger success than expected.
