COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- Children throughout the community came out to the Columbus Soccer Complex Saturday for the “Little Hands, Big Trucks”. 19 different trucks were on display for children to have hands on experience. Children were able to lift a garbage can to moving a crane. One of the coordinators for the event says the idea came to him with help from his son.
“I went to an event similar to this in Tuscaloosa a couple of years ago with my little boy . He’s obsessed with trucks and ever since then I have been trying to think of a way to incorporate this into something that we do here in Lowndes County and there is no better organization out there than the United Way of Lowndes county to support. So Jen and I got together and did some brain storming and we came up with Little Hands Big Trucks,” says Scott Ferguson.
