10-Acre Park Construction Under Way in Pontotoc

PONTOTOC, Miss. (WCBI) — Work is under way on what could be a big addition to the year-old Tanglefoot Trail.

Crews have begun installing a small dam and other drainage work as the first step in a 10-acre park that will be a major trail head along the 44-mile bike and pedestrian trail from New Albany to Houston.

The Pontotoc Park adjacent to the trail in downtown Pontotoc eventually will have rest rooms and other facilities.

City leaders also are seeking grants to build a trail linking Tanglefoot and the new trail head park with the city’s sportsplex on Highway 15.
