18th Annual FCA Clay Waycaster Memorial Golf Tournament

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Golfers throughout the area enjoyed nice weather and also helped raise money for a non-profit organization.

The 8th Annual FCA Clay Waycaster Memorial Golf Tournament was held at the Tupelo Country Club Monday (9/10). The tournament benefits the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Waycaster was active in FCA at Tupelo High School.  He graduated from THS in 2004 and died after a sudden illness during his freshman year at Ole Miss. Organizers say the tournament is a way to honor the life of a special young man.

“We dedicate this tournament to Clay Waycaster, who was highly involved in FCA and of course was an example of what FCA stands for , and representing Jesus Christ in the schools and in our lives as a whole,” says FCA District 1 representative Mark Boren.

New Albany High School football coach Ron Price was the guest speaker at the tournament.

Organizers hope the event will raise at least $12,000 for FCA.
