LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Winston County celebrates its veterans with the 2014 Veterans’ Harvest Festival.

It’s a fun filled day with events to recognize those who serve our country.

Veterans lined the streets of downtown Louisville while community members cheered them on and thanked them for their service.

A special program followed the downtown parade, which paid a tribute to the veterans.

Louisville Mayor says it’s another example of how, even in tragic times, the community draws closer together.

“Everything in our community is taken to a new level because the community has come together, through tragedy we’ve bonded. It’s a resilient community. We’re stronger,” said Mayor Will Hill.

A local second grade music class also paid tribute to their fallen classmate, Tyler Tucker, who died in the April tornado during their program.
