$35,000 Bond Set for Shooting Suspect

NETTLETON, Miss. (WCBI) — Bond is set at $35,000 for a 47-year-old Nettleton man accused of shooting another man earlier this week.

Clarence Woody Oliver is charged with aggravated assault and weapon possession by a convicted felon for shooting a man in the leg Tuesday night.

He made his initial appearance in Lee County Justice Court this morning.

The shooting occurred at his home on County Road 1361 near Nettleton. The altercation happened over the purchase of a trampoline and police say Oliver fired several shots from a handgun.

While the victim drove himself to a nearby business, Oliver fled but was caught Wednesday in Chickasaw County.

The victim remains in North Mississippi Medical Center in stable condition but is expected to be released soon.
