6 Figure Donation to the Palmer Home, 1 Year Later

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Last Summer, Mississippi State Treasurer Lynn Fitch presented a $108,000 check to the Palmer Home in Columbus.

A stock gift, that was supposed to go to the Palmer Home, ended up being classified as unclaimed property.

Treasurer Fitch made sure that money went where it belonged.

Children, who’s relatives are unable to properly care for them, can find healing, family and community at the Palmer home.

That six figure donation really helped out

Palmer Home President Drake Bassett says, ” Additional monies that come into your control, you start getting the wish list out. So we need to pay attention to some things we want to do in education, things we want to do in terms of facilities, and we’ve also been able to extend our staff. ”
The Palmer Home currently serves nearly 100 children on its campuses in Columbus and near Hernando, Mississippi.
