A Day of Fun in the Water

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – It was a chilly Saturday but that didn’t stop kids from their annual Easter activities.

At the Tupelo Aquatic Center,  an Easter egg hunt was held, but it was one of a different kind.

It was all a family day of fun in the water, from an egg hunt to canoe races, there was something for kids of all ages.

Instead of hunting eggs, the kids jumped in the water after something else.

“Everybody that came, they would tell us when to go and they put balls in the pool and we would go and get them,” said 9-year-old Madison Green.

But that was only the start of fun at the Tupelo Aquatic Center.

In both pools, different activities were set up for the kids to enjoy, such as the high diving board, canoe races and also big water inflatables.

For the kids, it’s a way to have fun and also stay active.

“This place is really fun,” said 6-year-old Presley Leathers.

“On a scale of one to ten, a bi-gillion,” said Mason Green.

Everyone had a different part they enjoyed the most.

“What been your favorite part so far today?”

“Playing on the Castles,” said 8-year-old Cassie Cullum.

“My favorite part is the boat thing,” added Leathers.

“To be here with my family,” added Madison Green.

The day was open to 50 participants and lifeguards were on duty.
