Video: Aberdeen P-16 Council Brainstorms on Educational Improvements

ABERDEEN, Miss. – (WCBI) They serve as the bridge between the school district and the Aberdeen Community.

Tuesday night, the P-16 Council shared ideas about improving the quality and success rate of their education system.

The P-16 Council is made up of a number of community members, and parents who are studying the strengths and weaknesses of the district. The group is also designed to get the public involved in improving education.

Aberdeen fell under state control nearly 2 years ago.

Mississippi law mandates the formation of such councils, when schools fall under control of the state.

The P-16 council will remain in place until that time.
