ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI)-Folks gathered Saturday morning for the Children’s costume parade and fall festival in Aberdeen.

It was part of the Aberdeen 175th celebration. The event kicked off with the Boo parade down main street followed by a fall festival. GELI, the familiar and beloved mascot of the Gilmore Early Learning Initiative was a guest at today’s event along with the Sheriff’s department giving free finger printing for kids. There were different activities for the kids to enjoy. One organizer says it was a community effort to make today’s event possible.

“Oh, it’s great, we’ve got all of our emergency responders involved, we got the fire truck here, the sheriff’s department then we have kids from JROTC from the high school helping us with the games so we partnered with everybody and got everybody together,” says Tina Robbins.

The fall festival went until noon.
