Aberdeen Students Learn How To Give A Helping Hand

ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) – Some Aberdeen kids learned new ways to raise awareness and help others today.

Belle Elementary students collected water to send to Flint, Michigan residents that have been struck by the water crisis there that is still ongoing.

They were able to run with the idea to collect the supplies, but they say most of all, they just want to lend a helping hand.

One student says they put the word out about it at their church, and her aunt that owned a shop downtown handed out flyers to every customer that came in and told them about it.

“My granny always watch the news and she said, “I wish we could do something about that.” And then I said, I can ask Mrs. Doss can we start a fundraiser to give water to Flint, Michigan,” said 4th grader Nicholas Shaw.

The water was delivered to the Red Cross in Tupelo.
