Video: Ackerman Swears In New City Leader

ACKERMAN, Miss. (WCBI) — Ackerman has a new city leader.

Felecia Miller-Baber was sworn in as the city’s new Ward One alderwoman Tuesday evening.

Baber is from Ackerman, and has lived in the city for nearly 50 years.

She says she wants to use her new position to be a voice for residents.

“It’s like a history to me, and I’m very excited about it,” Baber said. “I feel like this ward really needs a change, and I’m willing to bring that change to the community.”

Baber has also served on the election board since 1986.
