Alabama Authorities Look For Clues In Animal Abuse Case

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) – A $6,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a man suspected of beating a cat and posting video of the act online.

Tuscaloosa County CrimeStoppers and the Humane Society of the United States are teaming up to post the reward.

A video posted online earlier this month shows a man holding a black-and-white cat by the neck and beating it with a belt.

Tuscaloosa police searched a home in Sumter County looking for evidence, but no one was arrested.

Police say they need to know when and where the video was made before obtaining an arrest warrant for a man identified as a suspect.
