Alabama Man Charged in Prentiss Burglary

PRENTISS COUNTY, Miss. — In the early morning hours Saturday, June 8, a burglary was reported to 911 at Ramey’s restaurant in Marietta in Prentiss County.

Credit is given to an observant neighbor and the alarm company for a quick response in the incident by Marietta Police and Prentiss County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies Eric Lambert and Dennis Peeks responded and located an individual that was accompanying the burglary suspect at a nearby church.

The second individual who was determined to be the burglary suspect fled when officers arrived. He was apprehended shortly thereafter by Deputy Jeremy Pace on CR 4050.

The suspect has been identified as David Brian Calvert, 39, of Village Park Apts in Florence, Ala.

Calvert was out on bond for multiple pending Burglary charges in the State of Alabama. His bond has been set at $75,000 on the charge of Burglary of a Building. Additional charges may be added once the case is presented to the next Grand Jury.
