CORINTH, Miss. (AP) — The Alcorn School District will receive $100,000 in grants to help fund the hiring of two additional nurses.
A local newspaper reports the state-funded grants will pay the salary, fringe benefits and other expenses for the new nurses over a period of five years.
The increased staffing will allow the district to keep one nurse at the Kossuth campus full-time, while sharing one nurse between the Alcorn Central and Glendale campus. A third nurse would be shared between the Biggersville and Rienzi campuses.
The district previously had one nurse to cover all its schools.
