ALGOMA, MISS. (WCBI) –  The town of Algoma celebrated their 18th annual Cross-Tie Festival on Saturday. The festival featured a variety of activities for residents, such as; vendors, homemade Algoma lemonade, live music, a 5-K run and a motorcycle ride. The 100 mile bike ride went through town and onto the highway. At the end of the ride, cash and door prizes were given away. Proceeds of the festival go toward the upkeep of the town’s park.

“As an annual event, they come out to support the park, so we can keep the park up and we’re looking forward to seeing everybody out today,” said Algoma Mayor, Harry Corder.

A domino tournament was also held in memory of long time Algoma resident, Judge Phil Weeks.
