Alternating Lane Closures On Highway 45 In Monroe County

MONROE CO., Miss. (PRESS RELEASE) – MDOT crews will be alternately closing the eastbound and westbound lanes of Highway 45 from the Lowndes County Line to just north of Highway 25 in Monroe County for an overlay project.

Crews will begin paving 13 miles of Highway 45 on Monday, April 25th, 2016 and the project is expected to be complete in late summer.

The project was estimated at $10.5 million and the contractor that was selected is APAC – Mississippi Inc.

Motorists should use caution as MDOT crews and contractors will be on site and are encouraged to drive buckled up and distraction free.

The closure will be on Highway 45 between Barton Ferry Road and Highway 25 north and Highway 8 east in Monroe County.

The alternating closures will begin on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 6:00 a.m. and will last until the late summer.
