Amory Police Make Felony Arrests

AMORY, Miss. (Police Press Release) — One man is charged with possession of crack cocaine and another is charged with breaking into a church and other felonies as a result of Amory Police investigations.

Zachary Wayne Mckinney, 1004 Mlk Blvd, 59, of Amory, is charged with possession of a controlled substance. He is being held in the Amory City Jail awaiting a bond hearing.

In an unrelated case, on Nov. 20, Amory Police followed up on a suspicious activity report which led to the recovery of stolen property in an abandoned building. An investigation led officers to the suspect and recovery of more stolen items.

Charles Sales Yant, 35, of 50351 Greenbriar Road in Aberdeen, is charged with breaking and entering of a church on 4th Street, breaking and entering of a residence on 5th Street, and grand larceny.

Yant’s bond was set at $50,000 by Monroe County Justice Court Judge Robert Fowlkes.
