AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) — Amory voters will soon decide whether to allow the sale and possession of alcohol in the city.

Aldermen last night accepted two separate petitions, one calling for the sale and possession of light wine and beer, the other for liquor.

Amory City Clerk Lee Barnett said the city received its first set of petitions July 9, and its second set this Monday.

Voting will take place from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Oct. 14 at the National Guard Old Amory on 9th Street S.
