COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — The former finance director for Columbus city schools has withdrawn his request for a hearing into his dismissal.
A hearing officer had set aside Wednesday and Thursday, of this week, to hear evidence and arguments for and against the firing of Kenneth Hughes in early May.

Since then, Hughes has landed another job.

Former Schools Superintendent Doctor Martha Liddell terminated Hughes for unspecified reasons.

Hughes worked for the district for 18 years
