Appeals Court Refuses Lee County Man’s Appeal

TUPELO, MS (WCBI) –  The State Court Of Appeals is refusing to reverse the 2013 double murder conviction of a  Tupelo man.  Travon Brown was convicted of the shooting deaths of Cornelius Harris andFelecia Ruffin.  In his appeal Brown argued that several jury instructions were improper and that toxicology tests of the victims were improperly barred from the trial.   The justices overruled those arguments and ordered Brown to continue serving the life sentences handed for the convictions.  The case can now be appealed to the State Supreme Court
