April 11th Tornado
A tornado ripped a 68.4 mile path through Kemper, Noxubee, and Pickens Counties on April 11th. The tornado touched down at 11:31 a.m. in Kemper County and lifted at 1:06 p.m. in Pickens County. There was 1 fatality and 5 injuries reported in Kemper County and 4 injuries in Noxubee County. The twister peaked as an EF3 with max wind speeds of 145 mph in Mississippi but it weakened to an EF1 with wind speeds of 100 to 110 mph in Pickens County.
