WASHINGTON, D.C. – (NEWS RELEASE) UPDATE: U.S. Senators Thad Cochran and Roger Wicker were informed late Friday that the Department of the Army has approved a $34.0 million contract modification to EADS North America for the procurement of six UH-72A Lakota helicopters for the Royal Thailand Army.

All work will be performed in Columbus, Miss., with an estimated April 2015 completion date.

Every delivery of the Lakota to the United States Army, which is produced at Golden Triangle Regional Airport, has been ahead of schedule and under budget.

The helicopter is primarily used by the U.S. Army for non-combat missions including emergency response, border security, and light transport.
