Arrest in Bolivar County Pedestrian Fatality

CLEVELAND, Miss. – Agents of the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) and Bolivar County Deputies have arrested 23-year-old Rodney Shelton Fulgham of Bolivar County.

Fulgham is being held on a felony vehicular homicide charge in the Bolivar County Jail awaiting his initial appearance.

The charge is the result of an investigation by MBI, the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Department and the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

Shelby Harmon, 20, was struck and killed as she walked along US 61 near the Boyle community at approximately 5:30 a.m., Saturday, October 20th.

“Our agents, deputies of the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Department, MHP’s crash reconstructionists and forensic scientists of the Mississippi Crime Laboratory have worked tirelessly to reach this point of the investigation,” MBI Director Lt. Col. Larry Waggoner said. “Investigators working closely with the District Attorney and after presenting evidence and test results from the lab, an arrest warrant was issued and Fulgham was taken into custody.”
