Arrests Made in Union County Marijuana Bust

UNION COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Arrests have been made in connection with the marijuana bust yielding 178 plants.

According to Union County Sheriff Jimmy Edwards, anonymous tips were given to his office as well as the Tippah County Sheriff’s Department and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics regarding a large crop of marijuana plants being grown near the Union-Tippah County Line.

Several plants were spotted near old Hwy. 15 that law enforcement officers were able to seize. officials impounded approximately 178 plants that had a street value of $142,000.

Officers did take three residents into custody that live adjacent to the land where the plants were found.

Jefferson Graham, 55, and his son Tyler Graham, 22, both of Blue Mountain, were charged with manufacture of marijuana and each given a $15,000 bond.

Tippah County officials also issued a search warrant for the residence of Eddie Smith. Smith lives adjacent to the field where the plants were found and was also taken into custody.

officers found several weapons, seed, buds and equipment during the search of Smith’s residence.
