Attorney General’s Office Files for Execution Dates

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – Motions were filed Monday by the attorney general’s office requesting the Mississippi Supreme Court assign execution dates for death row inmates Charles Ray Crawford and Michelle Byrom.

Crawford was sentenced to death in Tippah County in 1994 for the rape and murder of Kristy Ray.

Byrom was sentenced to death in Tishomingo County in 2000 for killing her husband.

The attorney general’s office states in the motions filed that the U.S. Supreme Court denied Crawford and Byrom requests to hear their appeals.

The court has yet to rule on the matter.
