Baldwyn Man Charged with Fondling, Sexual Battery

PRENTISS COUNTY, Miss. (Press Release) — Prentiss County Investigators have charged 20-year-old Baldwyn man Mikeal James Pope with one count of fondling and one count of sexual battery of a child under the age of 14.

Pope is currently incarcerated in the Prentiss County Jail. Bond has been set at $1,000,000.

Investigators are building the case which likely will involve at least 12 other victims.

The other allegations of fondling against Pope are being investigated, and will be presented to a Prentiss county Grand Jury in October along with the present charges.
