Baldwyn Officer Under Investigation Fired

BALDWYN, Miss. (WCBI) – A Baldwyn officer at the center of an alleged beating investigation has been fired by the Board of Aldermen.

Chief Troy Agnew said the decision to remove Greg Evers from the force was made at Tuesday night’s meeting.

Family members of Josh Grice posted pictures on Facebook after they say he was hit by a Baldwyn officer during a traffic stop in November.

Agnew says no formal complaint has been filed with his office and he has turned the investigation over to the district attorney’s office.

District Attorney Trent Kelly was unavailable for comment.
