COLUMBUS, Miss. (Police Press Release) — On Nov. 29, 2014 at 11:16 p.m., Columbus Police Officers responded to a disturbance at 106 22nd Street South (Club Heidi Ho).

Officers were directed to 24-year-old Travon Roby who was alleged to be the cause of the disturbance. When officers requested Roby to exit the club, Roby resisted and physically assaulted the arresting officers.

He eventually was tazed to be subdued. Roby is being charged with three counts of simple assault of police officers based on kicks, strikes, and punches officers sustained during the arrest. Roby was also charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, and twelve outstanding warrants.

On Friday, November 28, 2014 at 7:18 p.m., Christopher Michael Lovato, 19, of Columbus, was stopped in the 800 block of Military Rd as a result of a traffic violation.

During the traffic stop, Lovato fled on foot to elude officers, but was captured after a brief foot pursuit.

Lovato was found to be in Possession of Marijuana (Felony Amount) and Methamphetamine (Felony). He is charged with Speeding, No Insurance, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Paraphernalia, Disorderly Conduct and Felony Possession of Marijuana and Methamphetamine.
