Video: Blue Bell is Back!

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Blue Bell is back! After being off the shelves for almost a year. The southern favorite is stocked once again.

Blue Bell trucks rolled into the Golden Triangle Monday morning.

“I love Blue Bell ice cream,” says Minnie Livingston.

Minnie Livingston can now pick up a gallon or pint of her favorite ice cream, after missing it for 9 months.

The southern favorite is back on the shelves, But one question remains.

Now that it’s back on the shelf are people going to be able to trust it enough to pick up one of there favorite flavors?

The listeria outbreak won’t scary Livingston away.

“Doesn’t bother me.”

But not everyone is as sure about the frozen treat.

“Just wait and see how everybody comments on it. When it did go off he shelves there were some bad things said and I watched the news, so I didn’t like what I heard. That’s the reason why I will wait,” says Linda Elliott.

Despite the negative attention, Food Giant manager Ben Wesley expects sales to be high.

“Customers are really going to appreciate it. Ever since they left, we’ve had numerous calls from people asking will they will be back, and finally it’s back in the store,” he says.

He says he’s confident his store has made the right choice to bring back the favorite dessert.

“They wouldn’t take the risk whatsoever,” says Wesley.

For now we’ll just have to wait and see if the famous creamery makes a come back.

Many other stores in Columbus are also carrying Blue Bell as of Monday.

Right now it’s only available in a few flavors.
