BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. (WCBI) — For the fifth straight year the town of Blue Mountain took time to honor a very special man.

Jerry Fowler was a teacher, coach and principle for Blue Mountain High School for many years who passed away five years ago unexpectedly.

So the town celebrates the Jerry Fowler Fall Festival which features music, food, and plenty of fun and games for the children. All the proceeds go to the Blue Mountain Schools where Fowler had such an impact on the lives of so many students.

“Mr. Fowler was a very special person” says Blue Mountain Alderman Jeff Pipin.” Somebody posted on Facebook he left a lasting impression on everyone that knew him. And we’re very honored as town and as a community and as a school system to be able to do this for Mr. Fowler, ” he says.

Also on hand were members of the Blue Mountain College baseball team.

The Toppers are looking forward to opening their season in February. Pipkin says Blue Mountain College is an integral part of the Blue Mountain Community.
