Boil Water Notice Issued in Parts of Starkville

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — The Starkville water department is issuing a boil water notice for customers living in West Starkville in the former Bluefield Water Association area.

The area of concern is west of the Highway 25 bypass, and south of U.S. 182.

A spokesperson says the alert is necessary because the system lost pressure due to a water line being damaged.

Authorities warn customers to boil their water vigorously for one minute before consuming.

The alert is in effect until July 14 at 5 p.m.
