HOULKA, Miss. (WCBI) -Houlka residents took to the polls on Tuesday to decide who will fill a vacancy on the Board of Aldermen.

Originally 4 people qualified to fill the seat of the late David Wiggs. None of the four received a majority of the votes in a December Special Election, forcing a run-off between Bonnie Brown and Jerry Turner…

Unofficially, it looks like the newest member of the Houlka Board of Aldermen will be Bonnie Brown with 50 votes to Jerry Turner’s 45.

There are 3 affidavit votes left to be counted, but those are unlikely to change the outcome of the election. And the results will have to be certified.
